Days 8-12. woops

Day 8: How long have you two been together? Are you long distance, live together, or near eachother?

We've been together for almost 2 years.  We've been married for 6 months.  We're long distance until I graduate in May and move down there.
Day 9: Favorite picture in uniform

Christmas skype date...him being his goofy self. :-)

Day 10: Best date you two have gone on

We don't really go out on dates, since we've always been long distance.  But one that I remember was the day before he left for deployment, we went to a Mexican restaurant.  We talked about a lot of different things that we've been holding off.
Day 11: Initial thoughts of how a deployment would be before the first one

I thought that there was going to be very limited communication, and having to rely on just letters.  That wasn't the case after he got over there.  He's called and got online a lot more than what he thought he would be able to.
Day 12: Most romantic/ thoughtful thing they have done for you

He sent me my favorite flowers on my birthday, even though he couldn't be here.  They were beautiful.  :-)

Day 6 and Day 7

Day 6: Favorite thing from him to wear (dogtag, jacket, t-shirt, cologne)

I have a few things from him that I wear all the time.  I wear his dogtags, unless I'm in clinic (we're supposed to look professional and have minimal jewelry).  I have nametape of his that I wear around my wrist, unless I'm in clinic or the shower.  I wear several of his Navy shirts to bed or to class.  He has a USMC sweatshirt and sweatpants that I wear on occasion.

Day 7: How did they (or you) say the big L word first?

I don't really remember who said it first.  I knew I loved him before we actually met, and he says the same about me.  There wasn't a specific moment, it just kind of happened.  How romantic, right?

Day 4 and Day 5

Day 4: Favorite picture of you two together

I have a lot of favorites, this just happens to be one of them.  We're at my grandpa's for the 4th of July.

Day 5: When did they decide to join the military? We you two already together or did you start dating after?

He decided to join when he was younger.  His family has a history in the military, so he decided to follow in their footsteps.  He was always getting hurt and in and out of doctor's offices, so he decided to be a Navy Corpsman.  He was already in the military when we started dating.  In fact, he was in Iraq on a tour.

Day 3: First kiss

Our first kiss, eh?  It happened the first night we met.  We were in my dorm room and he was showing me pictures from Iraq.  I gave him back his camera, and he was sitting on my bed.  He pulled me into him and just went for it.  I was taken by surprise, but it was a good one.  Not too romantic, but that's just us.  Needless to say, that wasn't the last time that we kissed.  :-)

Day 2: Describe your first date

Well, if you read how we met, then you would know that we didn't really have a first date when we met.  The first "real" date that we had was his last night home on leave and we went to Texas Roadhouse.  We both got steaks, and they were mighty delicious.  He ate his meal so fast, which he does all the time.  He kept giving our waiter a hard time, which he also does (he gets it from his dad).  After dinner, we drove back to my house and he played video games for awhile.  There wasn't anything super special about it, but it was still nice for us to go out by ourselves.

Day 1: How did you two meet?

One day, I was bored at home during my spring break since I didn't go anywhere.  I received an e-mail from my friends inviting me to join this website: myyearbook.  I decided to, since I was bored and there was nothing else to do.  I was just looking around the site and noticed this application, Secret Admirer.  This application starts off asking what you're looking for (males or females) and then shows you 9 of whatever you choose, then you pick 3 that you think are cute, and then it sends that person a notification that they have a secret admirer.  Once that person gets the notification, it takes them to the application and shows them 9 people with your picture in them, and if they choose you, then you both get a notification saying that you have a match.  Well, I didn't know what I was doing, but I clicked on his picture and then he clicked on my picture.  After we both got the notification saying that we had a match, I messaged him by just saying hi, he replied and then we started messaging each other.  That's when I found out that he was in the military, because he told me in one of his first messages that he was bored in Iraq.  And then messaging each other turned into phone calls and talking online all of the time.

After a couple of months of talking, his tour in Iraq was over and he came home.  He's from a small town that is close to where I go to school.  When he went home on leave, we decided to meet at Wal-Mart.  (classy, right?) I found him looking at phone chargers and went up to him and said hi.  It was awkward the first couple of minutes, but after that, it was fine.  He followed me back to my dorm room and ended up staying the night. The next morning, we made it official that we were dating and he gave me a pair of his dogtags to wear.  We were basically inseparable the whole time he was on the rest of his leave.  The rest is history.

Just a little bit about me

Hey all.  Aubrey is the name and being blunt is the game.  I married to my best friend on July 2, 2010.  He is currently in the US Navy and is a Hospital Corpsman.  He is attached to the Marines, so he is treated as such.  He's also currently deployed to Afghanistan and due to come home soon.  We were married 2 weeks before he left for deployment.

I'm in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (speech therapy).  I graduate with a BS degree in May from Ball State University.  I've decided that I'm going to wait to get my Master's until later, so that we can pay off the loans that I have now and we won't go even further into debt.

Well, that's all for now.
Be kind to each other.
